Banner Plane Crashes Into Myrtle Beach Waters
The aircraft has since been removed from the water and an investigation has been opened to discover what led to the crash.
A banner plane crashed off the coast of Myrtle Beach on Monday.
The accident occurred around 11:35a.m. in the area of 40th Avenue North.
The pilot was the only passenger aboard the single-engine Piper PA-18 plane and was transported to a nearby hospital.
The plane was in the surf around 20 yards off-shore. Nearly 15 people were in the water and were using a winch in attempt to pull the wreckage ashore.
The aircraft has since been removed from the water and an investigation has been opened to discover what led to the crash.
No additional information has been released at this time.
