It’s Not You, It’s Likely The Aluminum in Your Antiperspirant Causing Armpit Stains!

Guys are finding their favorite shirts ruined with armpit stains.  But don't blame the sweat, it's likely the aluminum in your deodorant!

This time of year you can’t avoid sweating.  Guys are finding their favorite shirts ruined by the icky armpit stains.  But don’t blame the sweat, it’s likely the aluminum in your deodorant!  Armpit stains can occur when the proteins in your sweat react with aluminum and other chemicals in your antiperspirant.  The result is a yellow pit stain that’s tough to get out.  To tame the stains you can trim our armpit hair or wear undershirts to absorb the sweat.  The best defense is choosing a natural deodorant, one without aluminum.  To remove the damage already done, an online search suggests soaking it in equal parts white vinegar and water and applying a paste of baking soda, salt and hydrogen peroxide to the stains.   Use a soft toothbrush to work the paste into the stains.
