A New York Block Party Resulted In Multiple People Injured

The block party was advertised through social media, but no permit was issued nor had streets been blocked off which meant officials were unaware of the event.

Early Sunday morning, several people were injured at a party in Syracuse, New York.

Officers responded to shots fired just after midnight. Upon arrival, police discovered a crowd of ‘hundreds’ of people.

At least 13 people were injured. Four of which were shot, five were stabbed, and four were struck by vehicles while fleeing the scene.

The 13 known victims included three males and 10 females ranging between ages of 17 to 25 and they are all expected to survive.

The large crowd was a mix of high school students, recent high school graduates, and college students, who mostly returned home for the summer.

The block party was advertised through social media, but no permit was issued nor had streets been blocked off which meant officials were unaware of the event.

An investigation into what led up to the injuries is currently on-going.

The mayor’s office has not yet commented on the incident.
