Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill creating the digital bill of rights.
Senate Bill 262, requires Google and other large search engines to disclose whether they prioritize search results based on political ideology.
The legislation also prevents government-led censorship by prohibiting state or local government employees from colluding with big tech companies to censor protected speech.
The Digital Bill of Rights gives Floridians the right to control personal data, right to know personal data won’t be used against them, right to know how internet search engines manipulate search results, right to opt out of facing personal data sold, and the right to protect children from personal data collection.
