George Santos Pleaded Not Guilty To Federal Indictment
The Justice Department unsealed 13-counts of federal charges against the U.S. Congressman.
On Wednesday, the Justice Department unsealed federal charges against U.S. Congressman George Santos.
The New York Republican pleaded not guilty in a long island courthouse to the federal indictment.
The 34-year-old surrendered on charges including seven counts of wire fraud, three counts of money laundering, two counts of making materially false statements to the house of representatives, and one count of theft of public funds.
Santos pleaded not guilty at the hearing and was released on a $500 thousand bond. He must submit to pretrial services, allow random monitoring at his home and surrender his passport.
Any travel outside of New York or Washington D.C. must be approved by the court. He is due in court again on June 30th.
