Whale Beached Itself On A Myrtle Beach Shore
The 300 pound mammal was alive on the beach for a period of time before it died of natural causes.
On Thursday, an injured sperm whale beached itself in Myrtle Beach.
The whale was found south of Myrtle Beach State Park near Pirateland RV Park.

A marine-biologist from Charleston is now examining the whale.
Usually beached mammals are either sick, injured, or already dead. If you come across a whale, dolphin, seal, or other marine mammal on the shore, dead or alive, you are advised to keep your distance, refrain from coming in contact with it, and to report it to SCDNR’s Hotline at 1-800-922-5431.
