Summary Explains Withdrawal Of U.S. Troops From Afghanistan

The overall summary concluded that Biden's administration blamed conditions created by Former President Trump for the withdrawal.

The Pentagon revealed a summary to explain the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan.

The 12 page document does not admit any mistakes however, it acknowledges some lessons were learned and have been reviewed since including the speed of evacuating citizens and its allies.

The overall summary concluded that Biden’s administration blamed conditions created by Former President Trump for the withdrawal. It stated Trump entered an agreement with the Taliban that required U.S. troops to withdraw by May of 2021 which limited Biden’s options.

The summary added that the Trump administration provided little information to the incoming Biden team in regards to the Afghanistan situation so time to prepare and evaluate was limited.

Though the withdrawal could have been more ameliorated, the summary defends Biden’s decision stating there was no sign that more time, funds, or Americans at risk would have led to a different trajectory.
