We’ve partnered with the Maguire Law Firm to bring you Carolina Kindness stories each Wednesday.   Have a story to share with us?  Email us at carolinakindness@wfxb.com.

Today’s Carolina Kindness stories:

Operation Christmas Child Last week we shared how Molly Tisdale in Anderson, SC collects and delivers shoeboxes full of necessities and toys through Operations Christmas Child.   It is all taken to a processing center in Charlotte where where a team of volunteers carefully inspect, prepare and pray over the boxes before they are shipped.   WFXB producer Annelynn brought us Molly’s story and in the process we discovered that Annelynn also participates.  In fact, it’s tradition in her family to travel to the processing center and help pack the boxes that are shipped to kids across the world.   She was there Saturday, and joined a host of other volunteers like Molly Tisdale.  More than 56,000 boxes were completed that day.   Overall, more than 2.2 million this season.

Bojangles Surprises Teachers with $500 BO-nuses for the Holidays  The holiday season offers everyone the chance to give back to the community – and this year, Bojangles celebrated by spreading holiday cheer to some of the most important members of its communities – teachers.

As part of its “12 Days of Bo*” holiday campaign, Bojangles donated $500 gift cards to 11 teachers across the brand’s footprint, surprising the star educators in their classrooms, surrounded by students and staff.

“Economically, it’s been a rough year for everyone – and with the holidays just around the corner and inflation still running hot, a lot of people will find themselves stretching to make Christmas happen,” said Ken Reynolds, executive director of The Bojangles Foundation Fund. “These educators do so much for our children and our communities, and we want to help pay it forward whenever we can. The gift cards will allow them to put a Bo on their holiday plans and will certainly spread some holiday cheer to their classrooms!”

In addition to the Bo-nuses, Bojangles donated books to each teacher’s school and provided plenty of chicken, biscuits and tea to enjoy.
