Passengers Flying Delta Could Soon Have the Option of Electric Transportation
Over the next several years, the time spent getting to and from airports in New York as well as Los Angeles, could be drastically shortened.
Delta Air Lines partnered with Joby Aviation and will soon offer transportation on its electric aircraft. What they’re calling an “aerial ride-sharing service” is expected to launch in 2024. Joby is waiting to receive additional certification from the FAA. The goal is to offer the service to and from neighborhoods. Each aircraft has 4 passenger seats.
The cost for services has yet to be determined. However, the aircraft uses electric propulsion which makes it “more productive” and cheaper to operate, which could make the services widely accessible.
