Russians Protest
Many Russian citizens were detained yesterday after participating in nationwide anti war protests. The demonstrations are a response to Russian President Putin’s “partial mobilization” announcement, which orders 300,000 Russian citizens and reservists to report to duty. Police detained protesters across 38 Russian cities, one of which has been threatened with prosecution for refusing to be drafted. The punishment is now a 15 year jail sentence. 33 minors and nine journalists are among the detained but, the full count of those arrested is still unknown.
