$70 Million Expansion Project Underway at Myrtle Beach International Airport

A $70 million expansion is coming to Myrtle Beach International Airport. More than $60 million of the budget will go towards expanding Concourse A which will include five to six more gates and additional seating for travelers. Four additional lanes will be added to the TSA screening checkpoint and the number of ticketing counters will also increase. Construction on the concourse is expected to begin in the next two to three years. Currently a $20 million expansion project is already underway at the airport’s rental car facility. That project is in two phases and is expected to be finished by Memorial Day weekend of next year.
