Finland, Sweden Invited to Join NATO
Finland and Sweden have been formally invited to join NATO. The group decided to approve the countries’ applications after Turkey dropped it’s objections on Tuesday. According to an official statement “The accession of Finland and Sweden will make them safer, NATO stronger, and the Euro-Atlantic area more secure. The security of Finland and Sweden is of direct importance to the alliance, including during the accession process.” The decision will now go to the 30 member state’s parliaments and legislatures for final ratification.
