New Details on Day of Insurrection Released During Capitol Riot Hearings
The January 6th hearings continued yesterday. Three Trump appointees testified in-person including former acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen, his Deputy Richard Donoghue and Steven Engel who led the Department’s Office of Legal Counsel. The committee focused in on the efforts of Representative Scott Perry the Pennsylvania Republican who connected Justice Department official Jerry Clark to the White House in December 2020, unveiled details about Republican members of Congress seeking pardons after January 6th and detailed a high-stakes Oval Office meeting that took place in December 2020 among other things. The hearings will continue next month.
