Celebrate National Cherry Tart Day with a Crip Recipe
Perfect for serving with some ice cream as well!
Whole-Grain Strawberry-Cherry Crisp
For your crumble:
— 1/3 cup whole wheat flour
— 1/4 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
— 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
— 1/3 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
— 1/4 teaspoon coarse salt
— 1/3 cup extra-virgin coconut oil
For your filling:
— 1 and 1/2 cups fresh cherries, pitted
— 1 and 1/2 cups strawberries cut into pieces
— 2 tablespoons brown sugar
Combine your filling ingredients and then in a separate bowl combine your crumble ingredients, knead until the oil it begins to form clumps. Then spread the filling in a pie plate, top with the crumble and then bake until golden for about 35 to 40 minutes. Perfect for serving with some ice cream as well!
