1. Re-connect at home with the simple things. Be intentional. Give your time, dates a name. Naming it makes something ordinary extraordinary. Determine a cause in your community, set a time to do something to help. share it with your neighbors either by phone call, flyers or social media. For example, maybe there’s a senior citizen whose yard that could use work. rally the troops. This gives you the opportunity to help and get to know your neighbors at the same time.
3. Another fun way to engage friends and neighbors is to create a welcoming driveway by leaving chalk in a bucket at the end of the drive with a message to leave a note or a funny quote. This will bring a smile to all who pass.
4. Celebrate the summer with a back yard BBQ. Invite the block and ask each to bring their favorite dish. if you can afford it, be in charge of the main dish whether that’s hotdogs, hamburgers or even pizza. it doesn’t have to be an all day thing just a short afternoon so everyone can connect.
