For every minute a tick is attached your risk of contracting Lyme disease and other tick-borne diseases increases.  Do daily checks.  Ticks can be found anywhere near grassy areas.  Suburban, urban, rural and even the beach.  Tick repellent sprays help as does protective clothing  To remove one, use fine-tipped tweezers to grasp the tick as close to the skin’s surface as possible, you want to try and remove any mouth parts in your skin.  After removing the tick, thoroughly clean the area and your hands with rubbing alcohol or soap and water.  If you develop a rash or just don’t’ feel well within a few weeks of the bite, call your doctor. If you have had tick bites in the past and something just isn’t right, ask for a Lyme disease test. Untreated,  It can spread to other parts of your body and cause many complications.
