Flávio Bolsonaro Flees To U.S. Following Brazil Election Loss

Following his election loss, Flávio was ordered to surrender his diplomatic and regular passports within 24 hours.

President Trump approved former Brazilian presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro to enter the U.S..

The approval comes after Flávio lost the election to incumbent President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva earlier this week. He fled Brazil for the U.S. primarily to avoid legal actions, including potential arrest and a Supreme Court travel ban.

Following his election loss, Flávio was ordered to surrender his diplomatic and regular passports within 24 hours. Instead of complying, he and his family arrived in Miami on Wednesday.

Trump said he thought the election was strange and terrible. He added, he didn’t take sides, but he knows Flávio a little bit, and his father, who was former former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro.
