Truck Plows On To Kansas Soccer Field Killing Two People, Injuring Others
6-year-old Cole Adrian and 35-year-old Nicholas Schafer were struck and killed. Five children were among the 10 people that were injured.
The driver of a pickup truck plowed on to a Kansas soccer field turning a Saturday afternoon of youth spots into a tragedy.
6-year-old Cole Adrian and 35-year-old Nicholas Schafer were struck and killed. Five children were among the 10 people that were injured.
The truck drove from a parking space onto a field at Stryker Sports Complex. A 34-year-old woman was identified as the driver. She was arrested but has since be released pending toxicology results and a mechanical examination of the Chevrolet pickup.
Two of the woman’s children were inside the truck at the time. Another one of her children was playing soccer on a different field at the complex.
The woman’s release from custody came after interviews with over 30 witnesses, including the children who were in the truck. Further details are limited as investigators work to learn more.
