Incident At Six Flags Over Georgia Claims Life Of One Person

Witnesses reported that a man had come loose from his seat while riding the Goliath roller coaster. However, authorities have not revealed details.

Six flags temporarily closed nine roller coasters across six amusement parks Monday following the death of one person.

The death occurred at the Six Flags in Georgia. Police have not specified which ride was involved. The identity of the person who died has not been disclosed. Other people were injured, but it has not been  announced how at this time.

However, witnesses reported that a man had come loose from his seat while riding the Goliath roller coaster. He reportedly struck the rollercoaster and some of the fellow riders before falling onto a roof of a nearby haunted house attraction.

Though it has not been confirmed, the Goliath coaster was witnessed stopped midway and riders were being helped off by workers. An investigation remains underway.

The death in Georgia comes just weeks after one of the Six Flags parks in California announced it would close the popular X2 roller coaster after over 100 people alleged they received brain injuries from the ride.
