Former ‘American Idol’ Contestant Caleb Flynn Sentenced In Wife’s Murder

Former ‘American Idol’ contestant Caleb Flynn has been sentenced in the death of his wife, Ashley.
Flynn stood trial after fatally shooting his wife in their home in which he staged a home invasion. He was found guilty of aggravated murder and three counts of murder. He was also found guilty of two counts of felonious assault and three counts of tampering with evidence after jurors deliberated just after two hours.
On Monday, Flynn was sentenced to life without parole after he was ordered to first serve an additional 16 years behind bars. That accounts for seven years for firearm specifications and nine years for three counts of tampering with evidence.
Flynn received credit for 229 days already spent in jail. He was also ordered to pay $20,000 in restitution for funeral expenses, along with court costs. During his sentencing, he continued to insist he’s innocent.
