Starbucks Announces Plans To Close 250 Stores Nationwide

While most of its 18,000 stores nationwide were reportedly profitable, a small portion has been struggling.

Starbucks announced plans to close around 250 stores across North America.

While most of its 18,000 stores nationwide were reportedly profitable, a small portion has been struggling. After review, the coffee chain will close approximately 250 coffeehouses this week. That represents around 1% of it’s locations across the country and the company said the decision was difficult.

Separately, the announcement comes just days after the chain resolved a lawsuit in Florida which requires the company to pay a $1 million settlement after Florida challenged its diversity, equity, and inclusion employment practices.
