Myrtle Beach Fire is Gearing Up for the Annual Guns & Hoses Charity Softball Tournament

Captain Jonathan Evans of the Myrtle Beach Fire Department shares details on the 18th Annual Guns & Hoses Charity Softball Tournament is returning to Pelicans Ballpark on Saturday, September 26, 2026, bringing local law enforcement officers and firefighters together for a day of friendly competition and community support.

The annual event raises crucial funds for SOS Care’s Project Lifesaver Program, which serves individuals throughout Horry County who are at risk of wandering due to autism, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, down syndrome and other cognitive or intellectual disabilities.

Firefighters and police officers will trade sirens for softball bats as teams compete throughout the day, culminating in the championship game at 5:30 p.m.

Pelicans Ballpark — Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Gates open: 9 a.m.
First game: 10 a.m.
Championship game: 5:30 p.m.

Admission is a $10 donation, with children under 5 admitted free. The event will also feature raffle prizes, a 50/50 raffle, beer and a hot dog buffet while supplies last.

Game Schedule:

  • 10 a.m. — Game 1
  • 11:15 a.m. — Game 2
  • 12:30 p.m. — Game 3
  • 1:45 p.m. — Game 4
  • 3 p.m. — Semifinal
  • 4:15 p.m. — Semifinal
  • 5:30 p.m. — Championship Game

All proceeds benefit SOS Care’s Project Lifesaver Program serving Horry County.

Project Lifesaver provides specialized electronic tracking equipment and support to help trained search teams quickly locate individuals who wander. The program is an important public safety resource for local families and first responders.

“Guns & Hoses is about bringing our community together while supporting a program that can make a tremendous difference when a loved one goes missing,” said Monique Clement Project Lifesaver Coordinator for Horry County. “Every gate entry,  sponsorship and donation helps provide crucial resources for Project Lifesaver and the families who depend on it.”

SOS Care invites families, businesses and community members to come out to Pelicans Ballpark on September 26, cheer on local first responders and help support Project Lifesaver.
