If you’re squeezing in one last summer getaway this Labor Day weekend, you certainly won’t be alone. Whether you’re hitting the highway or heading to the airport, a little strategic timing could save you from spending part of the holiday staring at brake lights.

The TSA expects to screen more than 17 million travelers for the holiday. Some of the most popular destinations include Seattle, Orlando, Boston, Denver and New York City. Drivers may want to avoid the roads today from noon to 8 p.m., and on actual Labor Day from 2 to 5 p.m., when traffic is expected to be at its worst.
