Are We Still Loving Pumpkin Spice?

Search interest in "banana coffee syrup" and "caramel apple iced coffee" both hit all-time highs this month.

The pumpkin spice latte returned to coffee menus last week…but is America’s love affair with pumpkin spice starting to wane? Here’s what the data says, according to Google Trends.

Google searches for “When do pumpkin spice lattes come out” usually spike every August, and this year was no different…increasing 510%. It’s also the top-trending latte search in the U.S. over the past 30 days, followed by cardamom…banana bread…and peanut butter latte.

Pumpkin spice does seem to be losing its grip on people. Compared to chai and matcha, pumpkin leads searches in just three states this week, which is a sharp drop from 32 states in 2025 and 48 states in 2024. Plus, search interest in “banana coffee syrup” and “caramel apple iced coffee” both hit all-time highs this month.
