The body of 46-year-old Dr. John Giusti was recovered Sunday on the Colorado River and 42-year-old Brent Rosencrantz’s body was also discovered. The pair were camping together, along with their friend, Timothy Smith, who is the last person believed to be still missing.

The other 14 estimated missing people have since been accounted for. The National Park Service had called for anyone who knew of hikers or backpackers who were in Bright Angel Canyon or the Phantom Ranch area on Saturday afternoon, when the flash floods hit, to provide information to park authorities.

The NPS said, “Grand Canyon National Park staff, in coordination with the Arizona Department of Public Safety, are continuing evacuation and response efforts and working to account for individuals who may have been in the affected area.” At least 82 people have been evacuated from the hard-hit areas.
