USPS To Increase Prices For Holiday Season

Prices are expected to change starting on Oct. 4. The increased rates will be in effect through Jan. 17.

The U.S. Postal Service is increasing shipping prices for the holiday season.

The agency’s increase is contingent on approval from the Postal Regulatory Commission. But if it is passed, the USPS will raise rates by an average of 6% for retail and commercial Ground Advantage, Priority Mail, Priority Mail Express, and Parcel Select shipments.

Prices are expected to change starting on Oct. 4. The increased rates will be in effect through Jan. 17. Exact prices depend on the service used, shipping distance, and weight. FedEx has also announced holiday price increases, set to begin Oct. 26 and last through Jan. 17 as well.
