Man Charged With Homicide By Child Abuse

An affidavit states that on April 14, 33-year-old James Bradley II reportedly picked up a child and strongly shook them.

A man is facing charges following the death of a child.

An affidavit states that on April 14 33-year-old James Bradley II reportedly picked up a child and strongly shook them. He also reportedly strangled the child in front of a witness. The 2-year-old reportedly died from the blunt force trauma injuries they sustained.

The following day, a social worker reportedly requested a Georgetown County sheriff’s deputy. That was in regards to a child abuse case involving a victim living at a home on Highmarket Street.

Bradley was arrested in May on charges of unlawfully placing a child at risk or causing harm. He has since been charged with homicide by child abuse. The child’s mother, Deanna Hilliard, was arrested in April on a charge of unlawful conduct toward a child resulting in death.
