Myrtle Beach Police Address Several Arrests Made In City Hall Parking Lot

Several people were arrested for alleged violations including open containers of alcohol, drinking in public, loitering and other offenses.

Myrtle Beach police have addressed videos circulating on social media.

The videos show multiple people being arrested in the City Hall parking lot. The area has been posted as “no loitering” for several years.

The police department said it regularly conducts “keep checks” of the area in response to requests, complaints, and concerns raised by community members.

During a check conducted on Saturday, officers reportedly observed individuals “actively violating the law” and detected the smell of marijuana.

Several people were arrested for alleged violations including open containers of alcohol, drinking in public, loitering and other offenses.

While on the scene, officers also located and safely recovered a person who had been reported missing.

The police department said it will continue enforcing the law while also working with local resources and community partners to connect people in need with available services and support.
