Student Arrested For Allegedly Making Threats Against School

A high school student allegedly received threats of bodily harm, including statements about "shooting up" the Carvers Bay High School.

Before Georgetown County students returned back to school, one was arrested and accused of making threats.

The sheriff’s office worked with the school district safety department to investigate reports of threats made last week.

The investigation led to a 13-year-old being charged with student threats. However, authorities said the student was not on campus Monday.

The student’s home was searched and officials determined they did not have access to any firearms. The student will be subject to the school district’s disciplinary process in addition to the charge.
