The 2026 FIFA World Cup has officially wrapped up.

On Saturday, England defeated France 6-4 in a dramatic third place World Cup match. That delivered the tournament’s highest-scoring game since 1982 and securing England’s best finish since 1966. In addition, Kylian Mbappé scored goals totaling to 22, surpassing Lionel Messi’s career World Cup total of 21 and moving into the all-time scoring lead.

Then on Sunday, Spain faced off against defending champion Argentina in an action-packed match. With the match Nil-Nil, Spain scored a goal during extra time securing the tournament title.

The next World Cup will be held in 2030 spanning across six countries with opening matches in South America before the competition moves to its main hosts in Europe and Africa.
