79-Year-Old Woman Identified As Fatally Struck Pedestrian

The accident happened around 3:30am along Highway 707 and Circle Lane near Scrubby's Car Wash.

The pedestrian that was struck and killed in Horry County Monday has been identified.

The accident happened around 3:30am along Highway 707 and Circle Lane near Scrubby’s Car Wash and the Cameron Village neighborhood.

79-year-old Shirley Cooper was struck by a Lexus Sedan that was traveling north along 707. She was walking the road at the time. Cooper died from traumatic injuries at the scene.

Lanes of traffic were blocked off for an extended period of time. The SCHP is investigating with assistance from the HCPD.
