U.S.A. Advances To Round Of 16 In FIFA World Cup

The U.S. gained just their second World Cup knockout round victory. The victory set up a Monday matchup in Seattle against Belgium.

The USA men’s national team is advancing in the FIFA World Cup.

Wednesday night, USA defeated Bosnia-Herzegovina 2-0 in the Round of 32. The goals were scored by Folarin Balogun and Malik Tillman. Balogun was sent off in the 64th minute for a red card leaving his team one man down for the remainder of the game.

U.S. coach Mauricio Pochettino became the first to win three World Cup victories. The U.S. gained just their second World Cup knockout round victory.

The team made it to the semifinals in the first tournament in 1930 winning their group. The U.S. also won a Round of 16 matchup against Mexico in 2002.

The win broke a 10-game losing streak for the U.S. against European teams dating to a tie against England in the 2022 World Cup.

Wednesday night’s victory set up a Monday matchup in Seattle against Belgium.
