32-year-old Brittany Neely reportedly left the teen and her three younger siblings unattended at the pool.
One woman is facing charges after a teen fatally drowned at a Myrtle Beach hotel pool.
The incident occurred April 2 at the Sandbar Hotel along S. Ocean Boulevard. Just after 7pm, police responded to the scene where 14-year-old Neveah Neely of North Carolina was found unconscious.
32-year-old Brittany Neely reportedly left Neveah, who could not swim, and her three younger siblings, unattended at the pool “for an extended period of time” while she went to a room at the hotel.
Neveah was underwater for “approximately 45 minutes” before she was found. She was taken to a hospital where she died.
Brittany was arrested the next day and charged with four counts of unlawful conduct toward a child. She was released from the J. Reuben Long Detention Center after posting a $100,000 bond.
