Delta Joins List Of U.S. Airlines Raising Checked Bag Fees
The move follows similar announcements from United Airlines and JetBlue.
Delta has joined a growing list of U.S. airlines that have raised fees.
Delta is raising checked baggage fees starting Wednesday. Most domestic and short-haul international passengers will pay $45 to check a bag, $55 for a second and $200 for a third. That’s a $10 increase on each of the first two bags and $50 on the third.
The move follows similar announcements from United Airlines and JetBlue, both of which raised baggage fees last week. It comes in response to current soaring jet fuel prices prompted by the war in the Middle East.
Delta said complimentary bags will still be available to customers in premium cabins, active-duty military personnel, and other certain loyalty passengers.
