Several People Hurt, Including HCPD Officer, In Two-Vehicle Crash

The two-vehicle accident happened in the area of Highway 701 South and Lucas Bay Road.

Several people were injured in a crash involving an Horry County Police Department officer.

The two-vehicle accident happened around 7pm Sunday in the area of Highway 701 South and Lucas Bay Road.

One of the vehicles involved overturned and crews had to conduct extrication operations to remove those who were entrapped.

Three people were hospitalized, including the officer. Three other people signed medical transport waivers.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating with assistance from the Horry County Police Department.
