Renourishment Work On North End Of Myrtle Beach Complete

The federal renourishment project will return to Myrtle Beach in May to complete the remaining areas within city limits.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers completed beach renourishment work on the north end of Myrtle Beach.

A separate project is scheduled to begin later this month. That work will take place in the Arcadian Shores area, covering the northernmost beaches and portions of the Shore Drive area in unincorporated Horry County.

The Arcadian Shores project is paid for by the city of Myrtle Beach and Horry County. Once that is complete, the federal renourishment project will return to Myrtle Beach in May to complete the remaining areas within city limits. People should expect temporary closures of certain beach access points.
