NTSB Investigating LaGuardia Airport Collision

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the fatal incident that happened at LaGuardia Airport.
Late Sunday, an Air Canada jet carrying over 70 passengers collided with a fire truck while landing at the New York airport. The pilot and co-pilot did not survive the injuries they sustained.
Around 40 passengers and crew members, as well as two people from the fire truck, were taken to hospitals, some with serious injuries. Most were released by Monday.
A flight attendant was hurled from the plane while she was still secured to her seat. She landed far from the crash and was hurt but did survive.
The NTSB is now investigating which safety precaution failed and allowed the fire truck onto the runway. Among the areas their looking into are whether the common practice of two controllers on overnight duty is enough, who was coordinating air and ground traffic, whether the fire-truck heard the controller’s last second pleas to stop, and others.
