Chief William Pierce is concluding his 34-year career in public service and law enforcement.

Pierce has served as the department’s chief since 2022 and submitted a letter expressing his appreciation for the opportunity, adding it was one of the greatest privileges in his career.

City administrator Scott Whittier said Pierce’s leadership and outstanding dedication as chief will be missed. Pierce’s last day as chief will be June 11.
