Man Charged With Attempted Murder In Connection To Shooting

21-year-old Tyrik Thompson has been arrested and charged with first-degree attempted murder.

One man is facing charges following a shooting in Lumberton.

The incident happened just before 5:30pm Monday. Police responded to the Cookout located along Robert Avenue. Upon arrival, a woman was found inside a vehicle in the Royal Farms Gas Station parking lot next door. She was suffering from a gunshot wound and was taken to a hospital to be treated for serious injuries. Her current condition is unknown.

21-year-old Tyrik Thompson has been arrested and charged with first-degree attempted murder and discharging a weapon into an occupied property. He is being held at the Robeson County Detention Center without bond.
