A man has been charged in connection to the 2025 death of an 18-year-old.

The situation unfolded around 2am on August 17 along Cedar Branch Road in Loris. Christian Hemingway was found suffering from gunshot wounds in critical condition and did not survive.

An investigation revealed that 27-year-old Dreshawn Stanley was in a Tesla Model S when he shot Hemingway. Digital location data was obtained from the Tesla and texts on Stanley’s phone, confirming he was at the scene. He also had the gun used in the incident in his possession.

Stanley has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He was extradited from North Carolina on Tuesday and booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
