Man Charged In Florence Co. Shooting

The victim was shot twice during a "brief interaction" inside the victim's house.

One man is facing charges after a victim was shot inside of their home in Florence County.

The situation took place at a residence early Saturday morning on West Smith Street in Timmonsville. The victim was shot twice during a “brief interaction” inside the victim’s house. They were taken to a hospital but their condition is unclear at this time.

31-year-old Devontae Blakely was charged with attempted murder, pointing and presenting a firearm, discharging a firearm into a dwelling, and felon in possession of a firearm. He is being held at the Florence County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
