Teen Facing Charges After Shooting Leaves 67-Year-Old Injured

Authorities responded to Blueberry Circle in Lumberton on reports of shots fired into two residences.

A teen is facing several charges in connection to a shooting in Robeson County.

Around 3:30pm Wednesday, authorities responded to Blueberry Circle in Lumberton on reports of shots fired into two residences. A 67-year-old woman was injured and taken to a hospital to be treated.

Following the shooting, the 17-year-old suspect ran into a wooded area and fired at deputies. He was eventually detained and charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious bodily injury, 18 counts of discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling and more.

The teen’s identity was not publicly revealed but he is being held at the Cumberland Regional Juvenile Detention Center without bond.
