18-Year-Old Identified As Suspect Of Canada School Shooting

Before the school attack, the 11-year-old step brother and step mother of the suspect were shot and killed at their home.

We now have an update on one of Canada’s worst school shootings in decades.

On Tuesday, a woman opened fire at the Tumbler Ridge Secondary School in British Columbia. The attack resulted in the death of eight people including a teacher, five students between the ages of 12 and 13 years old. More than 25 people were injured, two of which are in critical condition. Before the school attack, the 11-year-old step brother and step mother of the suspect were shot and killed at their home.

The shooter, 18-year-old Jesse Van Rootselaar, dropped out of the school nearly four years ago. She was checked on by authorities several times due to mental health concerns. However, a motive remains unclear. Rootselaar was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted wound following the assault.
