BMW Recalls Nearly 90k Vehicles Over Engine Issue
The recall was placed due to an engine starter defect that could overheat and cause a fire.
BMW is recalling nearly 90,000 vehicles.
The recall covers several models made between 2021 and 2024 including the Z4, X4, X3, 2 and 4 Series Coupe, 3 and 5 Series, 4 Series Gran Coupe and 4 Series Convertible. It also covers the Toyota GR Supra, which has several BMW electrical system components.
The recall was placed due to an engine starter defect that could overheat and cause a fire. No accidents or injuries have been linked to the problem. Owners can take their vehicles to a dealership where they will replace the starter.
