Man Accused Of Attempted Trump Assassination Sentenced To Life
A jury found 59-year-old Ryan Routh guilty on all five counts at trial last year.
The man convicted of attempting to assassinate President Trump on a Florida golf course was sentenced Wednesday.
In September of 2024, the president was golfing at the Trump International Golf Club West Palm Beach where 59-year-old Ryan Routh was spotted by Secret Service agents hiding in bushes while armed.
After an agent fired at him, Routh fled but was later captured. He faced attempted assassination, assault, and firearm charges.
Federal prosecutors on the case said Routh spent weeks planning the incident. A jury found him guilty on all five counts at trial last year. He was sentenced to life in prison.
