Minivans are Making a Comeback

A cool new “it” car is gaining popularity. The family minivan is making a comeback.

Last year, minivan sales rose 21-percent in the U.S., while overall sales were up only two-percent. Minivans currently hold a two-point-four percent market share, which is the highest level it’s been since 2019.

Analysts say one factor moving minivan sales is changing family demographics. Older millennials and younger Gen X families are growing and they need space for kids, gear, groceries, and maybe a run to Home Depot. The minivan is seeing popularity among one demographic in particular…men around 40-years-old, especially if the minivan is kitted out with off-road tires and roof top tents for camping.
