Trump Nominates Kevin Warsh To Replace Powell As Fed Chair
Kevin Warsh would replace current Fed Chair Jerome Powell when his term expires in May.
President Trump says he is nominating Kevin Warsh to replace Jerome Powell as Federal Reserve Chair. Powell’s term is set to expire in May. Trump made the announcement via social media Friday.
Warsh is a former policy maker who prioritized controlling inflation above all else. He’s called for overhauling the central bank’s workforce.
The Senate Banking Committee will consider Warsh’s nomination through a public hearing. After that, the Senate Chamber will vote on whether or not to confirm him.
