Trump Threatens To Invoke Insurrection Act In Minnesota

The Insurrection Act will allow Trump to send military troops to the area in an effort to settle civil unrest.

President Trump threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act amid rising tensions in Minneapolis.

“If the corrupt politicians of Minnesota don’t obey the law and stop the professional agitators and insurrectionists from attacking the patriots of ICE, who are only trying to do their job, I will institute the Insurrection Act, which many presidents have done before me, and quickly put an end to the travesty that is taking place in that once great state,” Trump posted to Truth Social.

The Insurrection Act will allow Trump to send military troops to the area in an effort to settle civil unrest. The threat comes after the fatal shooting of Renee Good last week by an ICE officer as well as a shooting in which a federal officer injured a man during an attack. The incidents have sparked widespread protests.
