A nationwide taste test involving thousands of Americans crowned California the state with the best food but New York came in a very respectable runner-up, proving that pizza and bagels count for something. Joining the culinary cool kids club were Texas, Louisiana, and Florida, which apparently have enough BBQ, cajun spice, and sunshine to earn them a spot in the top five states for food.

Here’s another interesting stat: New Yorkers spend the most time eating, 52 minutes a day and people from Arkansas eat the fastest, 41 minutes a day.
