At least 32 people were killed after a construction crane for a high-speed rail bridge collapsed onto a moving passenger train in Thailand Wednesday.
The train was carrying 195 passengers and staff members at the time of the incident. The train derailed and caught fire with the passengers trapped in carriages. At least 64 people were injured while 31 of those killed were pronounced dead at the scene and another died en route to a hospital.
Multiple rescue teams are on the scene as investigators work to identify the dead and injured. The train was listed as the special express train No. 21. It connects Bangkok, with Ubon Ratchathani, a city in the northeast. An investigation is underway to reveal more information.
